Pomegranate seed oil for hair: what it is, what it does, how we blend it
Pomegranate seed oil is the shine active in Fine Print: a medium-rich oil made almost entirely of one rare fatty acid, punicic acid, that few other seeds carry at all.

What it is
Pressed from the small seeds inside the arils, the oil is about 65 to 80% punicic acid, a conjugated linolenic acid found in almost nothing else. It takes a great many pomegranates to press a bottle, which shows in the price. It is pale gold and nearly scentless.
How it feels on hair
Weight 3 of 4, medium-rich, though it feels lighter than its class: it spreads smoothly and leaves a soft, polished finish rather than a coat.
Who reaches for it
Fine and straight hair that wants shine on the ends; Fine Print uses it at 10% beside prickly pear seed over squalane and jojoba. It suits anyone who wants a quiet, expensive-feeling active.
Where it sits in our blends
Fine Print carries pomegranate seed at 10% (with Squalane 52.3%, Jojoba 26.2%, Prickly Pear Seed 10%, and more). The blends with a product page can be bought as they are; every one of them can be opened in the builder and changed oil by oil.
How to compose with it
The builder allows pomegranate seed up to 10% of a hair blend. Keep it with light bases and light partners and a bright essential oil; it is a finish for lengths, not a scalp oil.
